superman returns is...okay. it's lukewarm. it's like a member of superman's rogues gallery; reliably there when you need it, but he can be put away just as easily. kate bosworth doesn't work as lois lane for me. i'm pretty sure that's the only reason why the masterful surprise went to watch the movie, but she was as useful as katie holmes was in batman begins. she's too young...i have no right comparing her to margot kidder, but it might've worked if they'd cast someone who was a little older for the role. i mean, she'll always be the fuckable one in blue crush for me (michelle rodriguez?...too much of a man for me, i think). brandon routh was alright...it's just that in a way, we didn't really see enough of superman. but the movie is brilliant on a few fronts. first, there's that opening sequence which just reeks of retro. the music, the titles...fantastic. and it's still got the warmth that the original two movies had...not as much, but it's still there. and it's got kevin fricking keyser soze seven murderer american beauty spacey in it. fantastic. even if he really is bald.
yealah.
i'm telling you to watch the movie coz it would be worth your RM 6. and there's a massive plot development, which harks back to a particular controversial scene in superman 2.
oh, well. for you joga seputeh fans out there, here's a little something of me trying to impress the camera (but running full speed to get the ball instead). i can't even be a proper poser. no respect.
the last few clips were taken on the same day, but i'll try to film new ones of us.
