"the longest day"
-------------------------
well, it felt that way. waking up at around 5 and trying to get back to sleep again isn't a very smart thing to do, no. i left the house at around 8-ish and arrived in HELP early for today's orientation. only to discover that i had left my wallet at home [i seem to be doing that a lot]. i called han seng, and he lent me some cash to pay off for the parking [i was planning to leave HELP and get home when time permitted]. anyway, the campus tour was alright...being self-depreciating and sardonic really does appeal to people [more on that later] and i met this guy with the most english accent you can find. his parents are malaysian but sent him to boarding school in london and he came back because he was disenfranchised with the british education system there. more or less.

anyway, the campus tour was alright, and han seng and i were involved with the second registration process at the other campus..."please check to see if your name's there...it's not?...oh, well, just leave your contact info there, yea?" lord. what trite. oh, and the icebreaking session was less than stellar. we were underprepared [a point that the english dude bluntly mentioned], but i think we made up for it in being as hospitable as humanly possible. i mean that in every sense of the word. i think we rocked. as nice people. slightly lame.

and did i mention that i did most of the talking? lord. the accent shone through. honestly, it was quite unintentional. at least now they know that i'm the poseur of the biz council. just what i always wanted to be. oh, and i made new friends [within the council]. it seems that everyone knows me, but i don't know anyone. holy crap. ugh. at the end of it all, i was bleeding thirsty. not even two cans of nestea, a super big gulp-ful of pepsi and yeo's chrysanthenum tea has helped.

i'm losing it.
